A worthy cause
Christmas 2025 Fundraiser: Making a Difference Together
March 2026
Especially during the holiday season, compassion, solidarity, and humanity take center stage. Under the motto “Donate instead of giving gifts,” we once again consciously focused on these values in 2025. Instead of traditional gifts, we offered our customers and business partners the opportunity to easily do good through our holiday greetings: With just one click, a donation of 10 euros could be made – a small gesture that can make a big difference when added up.
The proceeds were symbolically presented on March 13, 2026, in the form of a donation check to the Ambulanten Kinder- und Jugendhospizdienst Dresden e.V.. We deliberately chose this organization, which supports families with children and adolescents suffering from life-shortening illnesses—a group of people who are often barely visible in everyday life yet urgently need support. The volunteers here do exceptionally valuable work: they offer time, stability, and compassion in everyday life and in particularly challenging situations.
With our fundraising campaign, we aim not only to provide financial support but also to raise awareness – of the important social role that AKHD Dresden e.V. plays. It is very important to us to highlight this commitment.
AKHD Dresden e.V. Year in Review
20 Years of AKHD Dresden
There is also a special occasion coming up this year: the nonprofit association is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As part of this anniversary, various events are planned throughout the year to provide insights into the association’s work and create opportunities for people to come together.
Planned events include:
- Thursday, April 16, 2026: Open House starting at 2:30 p.m. at the AKHD Dresden
- Sunday, April 26, 2026: Upper Elbe Marathon with a donation lane for the AKHD Dresden
- Sunday, June 14, 2026: Charity concert by the ad Libitum Chamber Choir at 4:00 p.m. at the Ecumenical Pastoral Care Center of Dresden University Hospital (Conductor: Gottfried Trepte)
- Sunday, September 6, 2026: Church service at the Frauenkirche in Dresden at 11 a.m., followed by coffee in the church
- Sunday, November 29, 2026: Christmas Oratorio with the Singakademie at St. Peter’s Church in Dresden (conducted by Michael Käppler)
These events offer a great opportunity to get to know the association better and to raise public awareness of the important issue of pediatric hospice care.
Through our support, we hope to help ensure that this valuable work can continue in the future—and at the same time, help give it the attention it deserves.
