Students Discover Electrical Engineering at SAFE Energy
March 2026
This month at SAFE Energy, much of our focus is on career guidance. Through our participation in the Training and Career Day at BSZET in Dresden and the “Schau rein!” event, students were able to gain a closer look at the world of electrical engineering. As part of our efforts to promote young talent, it is particularly important to us to spark young people’s interest in technical careers while also highlighting concrete entry opportunities within our corporate group.
March 7, 2026: AKT at BSZET Dresden
On March 7, we were guests at the Dresden Vocational School for Electrical Engineering (BSZET) as exhibitors. On site, students had the opportunity to speak directly with our specialists about the career profile of an electronics technician for industrial engineering and entry-level opportunities at our two companies.
A special highlight was the wiring competition: Here, participants could get hands-on and demonstrate their precision engineering skills. The task was to correctly wire devices together so that the circuit would function. This allowed the young people to quickly discover whether they have a knack for hands-on work and enjoy working with electrical engineering.
In addition to the competition, the focus was primarily on one-on-one conversations. Many students took the opportunity to ask questions about training paths, daily work routines, or career development opportunities.
March 10 and 11, 2026: Behind-the-scenes insights at “Schau rein!”
Just a few days later, on March 10 and 11, we opened our doors to interested young people as part of the “Schau rein!” initiative. On both days, participants had the opportunity to experience SAFE Energy’s companies firsthand.
A brief introduction to the companies and their areas of responsibility was followed by a tour of the facilities. During the tour, the students gained exciting insights into various departments – including the F&S testing facility and the E&A manufacturing center. The hands-on stations were particularly well-received. Here, the young people could get hands-on and try out typical tasks from the field of electrical engineering. Wiring components and crimping cables required not only concentration but also manual dexterity and precision.
Opportunities for Newcomers
Information on entry-level positions for high school studentsIn addition to providing hands-on experience, it was particularly important to us to show young people concrete paths into the field of electrical engineering. SAFE Energy offers various opportunities to get started—from open houses and student internships to apprenticeships and dual degree programs.
These two events have once again demonstrated how important direct interaction with young people is. Many students were surprised by just how diverse and practical work in electrical engineering can be. We are delighted by the high level of interest and hope to see some of the participants again soon, perhaps through an internship or in other ways.
