E&A and F&S support the Dresden Outpatient Children’s and Youth Hospice Service

The Outpatient Children’s and Youth Hospice Service supports families with children or adolescents living with a life-shortening illness. The volunteers - ranging from young adults to seniors - stand by these families, offering their time, care, and practical support. To prepare them as well as possible for this responsible role, interested volunteers receive thorough training before they begin. Throughout their service, they also receive ongoing guidance and support from the coordinators of the AKHD Dresden.

With our donation, we help make valuable services available to the affected families. Since last year, for example, the association has been offering a regular breakfast where the parents of the children and adolescents can chat in a relaxed atmosphere. Another highlight was a multi-day retreat for the families in the Spreewald, accompanied by the coordinators of AKHD Dresden. The accommodation provided everything the families needed for relaxation and leisure activities. Activities of this kind offer family members much-needed respite and create beautiful moments away from their often challenging daily lives.
