Contract for the retrofit of a generator output
11.5 kV, 60 MW

The twentieth increase in gas turbine capacity at the GTHWK Halle requires an adjustment to the generator output to accommodate the increased current-carrying capacity.

At the same time, the generator is to be equipped with its own circuit breaker. The generator output itself is designed as a special construction. In advance of a possible contract award, E&A developed a concept for the upgrade and expansion of the generator output.

We have now been awarded the contract for the complete package. The scope of our contract includes:

Development of an overall concept
Dismantling of the generator outlet
Reengineering and 3D-CAD modeling of the generator outlet design
Design of the generator outlet in accordance with all criteria of IEC 62271-200
Calculation of the overpressure curve in the event of an internal fault in the housing
Stress simulation of the housing using software
Conversion and expansion of the secondary protection, including synchronization
Mechanical modification and expansion of the generator lead housing
Electrical disassembly and testing of the generator lead at the E&A plant
Reassembly of the generator lead
Secondary protection testing and transformer testing
