For the satellite terminal at Munich Airport, F&S PROZESSAUTOMATION GmbH developed a complex control system for the safe management of passenger flows for the satellite terminal at Munich Airport, as it had previously done for Terminal II, taking into account security zones such as Schengen/non-Schengen or clean/unclean and considering various disruption scenarios.
Over 240 doors, 60 escalators, and 30 elevators are controlled fully automatically and in real time based on current flight data. To guarantee a smooth start, even after each renovation, we simulate all operating procedures in advance and train airport staff using a specially created 1:1 simulation system.
The goal is error-free operation from day one and the highest level of safety for over 10 million passengers annually.
